SBCC's Monthly Book Club

Solana Beach Community Connections (SBCC), in collaboration with the City of Solana Beach Parks and Recreation Department, has been working hard to create new and engaging activities for local seniors. As part of these efforts, SBCC is excited to announce the launch of its new Monthly Book Club, offering a fantastic opportunity for both social and intellectual engagement.

The first meeting will take place on Wednesday, September 25, from 10:00 AM to 11:45 AM at La Colonia Community Center, 715 Valley Avenue, Solana Beach.

Led by Julia Fox, an experienced facilitator with a passion for reading and group discussions, the book club aims to bring together community members who love to explore new ideas and make lasting connections. "I love to read and discuss books with others. It’s been a rewarding experience in my own life," said Ms. Fox.

The first meeting will provide an introduction to the club, brief guidelines, and a suggested reading list. Participation is limited to 12 members to ensure a close-knit, engaging environment. Book selections will be chosen by Ms. Fox or suggested by group members, with a focus on titles that have been available for a while to increase accessibility through local libraries or platforms like Libby.
