New Solana Beach Street Banners Project (2024)

The City of Solana Beach is inviting proposals from talented artists for the design of a new set of street banners as part of the City’s Street Banner Program. This program plays a significant role in promoting the city, featuring banners for various events and occasions such as Fiesta Del Sol, the San Diego County Fair, Del Mar Races, Bing Crosby Races, and the Holidays. The City also displays "Welcome to Solana Beach" banners year-round. The current banners, last updated in 2013, need a refresh to maintain the city's aesthetic appeal and promotional impact.

The City and the Public Arts Commission are looking to replace the current City banners with a fresh set that reflects Solana Beach’s diverse values and interests. The new banners aim to promote five key themes: Active Transportation, Arts & Culture, City of Kindness, Environmental Sustainability, and Shop & Dine Local.

The selected artist will receive a $5,000 stipend for creating a cohesive set of Solana Beach banners.

Please review the City's Official New Street Banner RFP to ensure you meet all qualifications.

Submissions are due by Friday, October 18th, at 5:30 PM.
