After many months of work with the cities of Solana Beach, Del Mar, and San Diego, as well as the Fairgrounds and North County Transit District, SANDAG is releasing its Value Analysis Study for the LOSSAN Rail Realignment Project. The study was conducted to refine and improve potential rail realignment alternatives for consideration. As part of this process, technical staff from regional cities and agencies reviewed more than 200 ideas and developed over a dozen new alternative routes.

Residents and businesses are encouraged to learn more at two upcoming informational sessions here in Solana Beach. SANDAG will present the study at the City Council meeting on Wednesday, February 12th, at 6:00 PM (watch the presentation here). The following day, Thursday, February 13th, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, SANDAG staff will be available at City Hall for community office hours to answer questions on the process, the details of the alternatives considered, and provide additional information on next steps.

On February 28th, the SANDAG Board of Directors will review staff recommendations and determine which alternatives will move forward for environmental review. The Staff Report with the recommendations will be released to the public on February 21st. Community members can submit written comments by emailing the Clerk of the Board (clerkoftheboard@sandag.org) by 4:00 PM on February 27th. The public may also provide oral comments in person or via Zoom during the February 28th Board meeting. More details, including scoping feedback and study findings are available on the project website.
