King Tides and High Surf Advisory This Weekend

The Solana Beach Marine Safety team wants to notify the community about this weekend’s King Tides, which will bring some of the highest and lowest tides of the year. These tides, enhanced by a supermoon, will take place Friday through Sunday and will be accompanied by a High Surf Advisory. Waves are expected to reach 5 to 7 feet during high tide, while low tide will expose tide pools and reefs, offering a special opportunity to explore and observe marine life.

The King Tides offer breathtaking views and unique coastal experiences, but they can also create stronger waves and unpredictable surges. The Marine Safety team recommends staying cautious near the water’s edge, especially during high tide. Low tide is the perfect time to check out tide pools safely and enjoy the vibrant marine ecosystems they reveal.
