Solana Beach Climate Action Plan CAP Update
Seeking Community Input on Local Climate Mitigation Efforts
Solana Beach is updating its Climate Action Plan (CAP), which was first adopted by City Council in 2017. The CAP is being updated to address new state emissions reduction targets and build upon the progress achieved under the existing CAP. The long-term success of the CAP and reaching the state’s targets will require collaboration and support across the Solana Beach community, relying on actions that both the City government and community members can take to reduce their climate impact.
The survey seeks your input on how the Solana Beach community can contribute to the reduction of global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in a meaningful way, in keeping with California’s aggressive emissions reduction targets. It is meant to support the CAP Update by:
- Providing an overview of the pathways the City is considering for the CAP Update;
- Soliciting input on the ways in which local households and businesses can help manage their carbon footprints; and
- Gauging the community’s commitment to implementing GHG emissions reduction measures that require significant investment on the part of the City and the community at-large.
The survey is structured so you can spend as little or as much time as you would like. There are four sets of survey questions, organized by who the actor would be to reduce GHG emissions to support the CAP Update. This includes:
- Residents
- Businesses/Organizations
- City actions for the community
- City actions for government Operations
There is a set of actions that would be applicable to each actor, which the City is considering for inclusion in the CAP Update. Please feel free to review and provide input on just the actions that are most important to you, or review and provide input on all of them.
