La Colonia Park Master Plan
Community Input Survey (English & Espanol)
The draft La Colonia Park Master Plan was originally prepared in 2008 and since that time, select elements of the Master Plan have been implemented such as the Veterans’ Courtyard and the Skate Park. Additionally, the Tot Lot is expected to be substantially reconstructed by the end of the 2023 calendar year. The City purchased the vacant lot immediately north of the Skate Park to provide for an expansion of the park. This parcel is not identified in the current Master Plan and the City is looking for additional comments/feedback from the community on the incorporation of this property into the Master Plan.
The City held a Community Workshop for the La Colonia Park Master Plan in February 2023. At the workshop, the community was asked to provide input on possible changes to the current Master Plan and what improvements to the Park they would like to see. A part of the workshop was to introduce the vacant lot north of the skate park to the Master Plan process to get an idea of what amenities the vacant lot could accommodate to increase the recreational opportunities for the community.
