Senior Services
The City of Solana Beach is reviewing its services for Seniors as part of a citywide initiative to become an Age-Friendly Community. Currently, Mira Costa College offers some classes targeted toward seniors at the Fletcher Cove and La Colonia Community Centers. The Solana Beach Presbyterian Church also offers a variety of programs and services. 2-1-1 San Diego - a county nonprofit operating 24 hours a day as a trusted source for access to community, health, social, and disaster services. Resources include food, housing/shelter, transportation, utilities, consumer and legal services, education, healthcare, mental health, income and employment, etc. Calls are free, confidential, and available in many languages.
Solana Beach Community Connections (SBCC) - Solana Beach Community Connections is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization providing information, services and resources to Solana Beach seniors assisting them to age independently in place.

FACT - RideFact offers affordable curb to curb transportation services for seniors and people with disabilities in San Diego. Schedule a trip at least 3 days ahead of travel.
Dial-A-Ride is a City service offering affordable transportation to low-income residents who are unable to operate a motor vehicle and/or use public transportation due to their physical limitations from advanced age or disability.
Eligible applicants must be:
Legal residents of the City of Solana Beach; and 65 years of age or older (or receiving social security retirement or equivalent benefit) or physically disabled; and have a specific gross income/household size ratio.Eligible participants may purchase one taxi voucher booklet per month. Each booklet costs $7.50 per month and has a value of $20.00. Vouchers are non-transferable and may only be used with eligible taxi service providers.
