Friends of Solana Beach Library presents “Professional Photography Tips For Better Photos With Your iPhone” with Mark Mennie on Tuesday, September 16, 2025 from 5:30 - 6:30pm.  

Mark Mennie is both a local Solana Beach Public Arts Commissioner and internationally recognized Documentary Photographer. Mark will be sharing his expertise so others can learn the tricks of the trade.  From setting up the shot to editing your image just right, Mark’s insight and expertise will help everyone capture amazing photos on their own.

“I have captured images from all over the world and the common thread to composing  great pictures comes down to a few basic tips” said Mark Mennie,   “I truly enjoy providing basic tools to help people capture stunning moments with their phones.”

Mark’s photography is currently on display at the Solana Beach Library, so arrive early to view his work.

About Mark Mennie

mark mennie

Mark is a Photographer who has specialized his commercial work capturing Air-medical/ Air Ambulance operations - on Helicopters and airplanes for the the US based Association of Air Medical Services and other International providers. His work illustrates both Air-medical Crews, Pilots and Healthcare professionals at work, portraits or set-up imagery.

Personal documentary projects - include his annual accredited access to the Red Carpet and its' assembly at the Academy Awards (Red Gold and Wood) and a 5+ year member of the Burning Man Documentary Team. (Art, Dust and The Man)

A 1988 graduate of Photographic Arts - from the Alberta College of Art and Design - Calgary, (now AUA 20019) Mark initiated a career in Commercial Photography in 1991 and now partially resides in San Diego California.

Mark can be seen at many local events capturing the essence of Solana Beach with his amazing photos. Mark’s work is now on display at the Solana Beach Library.
