Campaign Sign Guidelines for Election Season
As election season approaches, residents and property owners are reminded to follow guidelines for posting campaign signs.
The Solana Beach Municipal Code states:
Signs may not be placed in the City’s right of way, including streets, sidewalks, bike lanes, walking paths, center medians, or any other public spaces. This also includes City-owned properties, such as parks. Signs may not be affixed to utility poles, streetlights, trees or traffic or parking signposts.
Signs must not block motorists’ or pedestrians’ sightlines or create other safety hazards.
Beaches, bluffs and wetlands are off-limits for signs.
In residential zones, each campaign sign shall not exceed five square feet in area and, if freestanding, 42 inches in height.
Please respect others and do not remove signs from private property without property owner authorization (as this is illegal).
All campaign signs shall be removed within 10 days of the election.
Get out and vote on Tuesday, November 5th!
