Repurposed Succulents Find a New Home Along the Coastal Rail Trail

Recently, our Public Works team saw the perfect opportunity to enhance pedestrian safety at the South Sierra crosswalk near Fletcher Cove, and repurpose mature succulents to the Coastal Rail Trail.
After noticing that some of our succulents were beginning to impede visibility and obstruct the pedestrian crosswalk at Fletcher Cove, the team carefully relocated and pruned the vegetation in a way that ensured both pedestrian safety and the plants’ successful relocation. This sustainable approach reflects our City’s commitment to a Clean & Green Solana Beach while prioritizing pedestrian and traffic safety, especially during the busy summer season.
Be sure to check out the replanted vegetation surrounding the new Torrey Pine Tree at the south end of the CRT, and remember to drive safe!
