Via De La Valle Paving Road Closure

Via De La Valle is getting a much-needed road makeover! Pavement work is tentatively scheduled for September 8 and 9, 2025, along Via De La Valle from east of San Andres Drive to Jimmy Durante Boulevard.
Work will take place overnight between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. During these hours, lane closures will be in effect, and nearby residents may notice construction noise and lighting.
This project is part of the City of San Diego’s improvement efforts, coordinated with Caltrans to deliver roadway, safety, and accessibility upgrades. Improvements include new paving, ADA-compliant curb ramps, updated striping, and electrical upgrades such as loop detectors, pedestrian signal heads, and audible pedestrian signal buttons. A new traffic signal pole is also planned, with installation expected in approximately 20 weeks due to manufacturing lead times.
