Time: 10:00 am

Refresh your wardrobe and come swap with the City of Solana Beach! The City will be hosting a community clothing swap this new year to encourage sustainable fashion and prevent clothing from ending up in the landfill. Join us on Saturday, January 10th to bring your good-condition items, meet new people, and chat with the community!

When: Saturday, January 10th, 10 AM - 1 PM

Where: La Colonia Park @ 715 Valley Ave, Solana Beach, CA 92075

How the Clothing Swap Will Work

Please bring up to 15 new or gently used items to City Hall the week before the clothing swap, or on the day of the event. You will receive 1 ticket for each item, which you will be able to use to 'pay' for your items on the way out.

  • After 12:00 PM, the Clothing Swap will open to the general public and anyone can come in and take items. Participants may take items regardless of how many (if any) pieces they donated!

We encourage participants to drop off clothing the week prior, between January 5th - 9th, at City Hall during work hours (8 AM -  5 PM). Let staff at the front desk know you are here for the clothing swap, and a sustainability staff member will meet you in the Lobby to collect your items, and give you tickets for the swap meet on Saturday.

Please fill out the form below to let us know you are coming!

FAQs

Can I bring more than 15 items?

Please do not bring over 15 items to the swap. If you have extra clothes that you would like to get rid of, we recommend donating them to a local organization, giving them to a friend or family member, or you can sell items in good condition online.

Will the clothes be clean?

Please only bring clean clothes to the swap. Dirty clothing will not be accepted for a ticket. Staff and/or volunteers will be reviewing all donated clothing prior to and on the day of the swap meet.

What happens to leftover clothing?

Leftover clothing will be donated to the following organizations:

Will I be able to try on items at the swap?

There will be mirrors at the event for you to try look at the items you would like to take home. However, there will not be traditional fitting rooms. We recommend to take your measurements and bring a tape measure just incase.

I don't have clothes to bring, can I come to the swap?

The first two hours of the swap meet are open only to participants who have brought in clothes either the week before, or the day of. However, you are welcome to join during the last hour, after 12 PM, to take clothes without a donation at the end of the swap!

My clothing item has a tear in it, what do I do?

Please do not bring torn or broken items to the swap. However, we recommend finding nearby alteration services or attending a Fix-It Clinic event to repair your item! If you do not want the item, please donate or recycle it.
